Lauhala Mats
The leaves are taken out from the Lauhala Plants (pandanus plants), pulling out thorns on the edge, cut the leaves into small strips, dried under the heat of sun and leaves it for 1 or 2 days. Once the strips are completely dried, cleaning it out by pressing the strips against the woods or any objects to take out dried fibers to make it look like on the picture above.

Our standard sizes:
- 4′ x 8′ (feet)
- 3′ x 6′
Our Lauhala woven strip sizes:
- 1 inch weave
- 1/2 inch weave
- 3/8 inch weave
- 1/4 inch weave

This is our top-selling lauhala mat, however, Mat’s orders for 1 inch weave can be finished in several months due to the weave length size because this is done by old women and only few can make 1 inch weave.

"All products are Made to Order. Sometimes your order will be finished quickly and sometimes there will be some delays. Please understand us because we are working with people in our community and all are handmade. Other factors that will cause delays:
1. Small orders (not continuous production)
2. Small items (especially the bird toys), only few weavers can weave
3. Our weather (if it's too hot, then weavers can only work at afternoon till early evening, if during rainy season, weavers cannot work on it because it can cause molds.
4. Raw materials (leaves won't grow too fast)
5. Weavers are Older women
6. All are Handwoven (we are not machines)
7. And other Fortuitous events that we cannot control."
